It looks like I got on some kind of Kindle app reading jag in June of 2024. These all sound like those kinds of books. This may be a short post.

The main character thinks she is going crazy, and you will start to wonder too. This was a tense read.

This is a dark one. There’s torture and rape. And the ending is over the top.
One of Those Faces: A Novel by Elle Grawl
People are dying–and they all look a lot like the protagonist! What is going on? I am sorry to say I have absolutely no idea.
No One Knows Us Here by Rebecca Kelley
Oh, this was weird. The protagonist is suddenly saddled with the care of her younger sister and in order to provide for her she takes a job as a “companion/girlfriend” to this super-rich eccentric guy who runs some awful company that spies on people everywhere–some kind of dystopian social media-esque thing. There’s murder too.
Last Night by Luanne Rice
It’s a murder mystery that I don’t remember much about, but I did like the writing and the detective who was featured to go on the read the other books in the series, and I have even gone so far as to buy some of her books at the used bookstore!

I believe I had set a reading goal of seven books a month for 2024. If I made it, months like this will be why. There is nothing wrong with reading purely for pleasure, of course. But it bothers me to remember so little of these books after a year.
