I started off this month just as I promised–I went to the giant shelf in my room and picked a book that had been sitting there for a long time.
The Distant Hours by Kate Morton
This was a fabulous book! I don’t know why I waited so long to read it, especially since I had read and enjoyed books by this author before. It’s a mystery that straddles two time periods as a daughter sets out to learn more about the past her mother doesn’t talk about, by visiting a decaying castle where three women have many secrets of their own.
The Kidnapping of Alice Ingold by Cate Holahan
This was a free book I read on my phone, about a kidnapping that went wrong–or DID IT?
The Fix by Mia Sheridan
I have read several thrillers by this author and I like them. This one is about a woman who must confont her past to save another vicitm–a child–in the present.
Death Row by Freida McFadden
Another thriller that I read on my phone because I liked the last book I read by this author. It’s a novella about a woman on death row for her husband’s murder, with a big twist at the end.
The Rushworth Family Plot by Claudia Gray
Oh, this was a good one. It was very satisfying in terms of the murders and their solutions. But it does throw a big wrench into Miss Tilney and Mr. Darcy’s romance!
